BSNL is one of the greatest internet services in India claiming itself as the backbone of India. Not only do they provide world-class broadband, they also provide services like games on demand, music videos on demand, IPTV and uninterrupted internet flow.
The one and only problem they have is quite well-known and that is how long it takes for their guys to come to your house and configure your modem and LAN. If you want to use their services right away, then simply follow these instructions:
How to Configure Your Modem:
To configure your modem, connect the device to your PC or Laptop using the Ethernet or USB junction/port available. Then open up a browser and enter this: http://192.168.1.1/ in the URL bar. This will take you directly to the configuration page where you will have to log in. If you already know the username and password, then simply enter them in. If you do not know your sign in credentials then try typing “admin”\” as both the username and password. This usually proves successful, however if that is not the case, contact BSNL for your login information.
Once you have logged in then click the internet connection tab which will leave you at a page where you can delete and default PPPOE connections. Once that is done you are ready to go to the next phase which is to create a new connection.
On the same page as you were: – Click the add button which will initiate a wizard that will help you create a new connection. The title of the wizard will be “Configure ATM PVC” and you need to set everything as zero except VCI and Peak Cell Rate which are to be set as “35” and “UBR with PCR” respectively.
Now you will be taken to the “connection type” page, there set the protocol as “Bridging” and click “next” Click “next” again and then “apply” and you’re good to go.
